Aegis / Carat / Isobar Acquires iProspect

As if it weren't confusing enough already. Aegis has acquired iProspect for its U.S. Isobar Search Firm headed by Carat Interactive. So Isobar will now be using iSEBA for search.

They paid $50 million for iProspect. Wow

Have any of the acquired companies done better after being acquired?
Performix (acquired by Doubleclick for $58 million) seems to be destroying its new parent
GoToast was bought by Atlas and became Atlas OnePoint, but little else seems to have changed.

To be sure, Isobar desperately needs search and web help. Try to find their site in Google. They don't come up in the first three pages (I got bored after that) for the term "Isobar" and they don't come up in the first page for the term "Isobar Communications." Their URL is www.isobarcommunications.com. It's a good thing iProspect knows SEO.

And the Isobar web site, once I finally found it (from their press release), has only two links. One is a contact us, which just leads to a mailto link (really, a mailto link, in 2004?) and the other is a press release link which leads--you guessed it--to a press release.

BUT not to the press release about acquiring iProspect for an ungodly sum of money. No: to an old press release from July!

[rant]Hello! I could fixed up your business for about $49.999 million less than you are paying iProspect[/rant]
